John McConnell

John is passionate about sharing the truth around retirement planning. After years in the financial industry, he has seen the good, the bad and the ugly. Plans that look great on paper and tied up with a pretty bow can come absolutely unraveled with little more than a tug on a string.

John started his career at Morgan Stanley and progressed into a long-term care and disability brokerage firm. He was later recruited by MetLife as one of six product specialists throughout the country. John was then sought out by one of the country’s largest distributors of retirement solutions before returning to his true calling of helping retirees navigate this unusual time that we now live in.

John is often invited to be a guest speaker at various industry trade events and has trained advisors across the country on how to build successful retirement plans. As a fiduciary, his diverse background in investments, insurance, and planning has given him a unique perspective on what retirement can look like today.

John especially enjoys working with federal and state employees as they navigate the complex network of their benefits. He holds regular training workshops and one-on-one consultation sessions to help federal and state employees navigate their complex choices when it comes to retirement planning.

While John has established himself as an professional in retirement planning, in his free time he is happiest raising his three children Jack, Axel and Jane with his wife Tara in their adopted hometown of Scottsdale, Arizona.
